Amritsar, May 6 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The post-graduate department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College Amritsar organized Workshop on “Commerce Education and Skill Development” in collaboration with Khalsa Global Reach Foundation Skill Development Centre.The primary objective of the workshop was to impart training to the students regarding Skill Development by identification of the skills gap in youth and providing skilling training and employment benefits to them, said Principal Dr. Mehal Singh.
He said the newly set up Skill Development Centre aims to acknowledge the ability of the youth and extend their support by serving them with the proper guidance, infrastructure, opportunities, and encouragement that help them achieve their ambitions in life. Department head Dr. A.K Kahlon, Workshop Coordinator Dr. Sawraj Kaur and Dr. Deepak Devgan said the workshop and emphasized that Skill Development can enhance employability for the youth and minimise social challenges of livelihood.
The workshop consisted of six technical sessions and “Stress Management and Budding Executives” talk was well received. Dr. Ajay Sehgal provided practical knowledge to students regarding “Investment Planning and Online Trading”. Dr.Rachhpal Singh took fourth technical session and delivered his guidance regarding “Automation in Office Management and Exploring MS Office ”. Dr. Poonam Sharma took Technical Session IV and acquainted the students with the knowledge of “Tax Planning for salaried persons while Dr. A.K Kahlon delivered her lecture on “A safe workplace is women’s legal right”.
During the Valedictory Session Registrar Prof. Devender Singh was the Guest of Honour who congratulated the department for the successful completion of the event and motivated the students for retaining the knowledge gained by them in this workshop as it is going to benefit them forever in their life.
