Slams Power Drunk Captain and Sukhbir for ‘Building Castles In Air’

Baba Bakala (Amritsar), August 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Announcing a bonanza for women on the occasion of ‘Rakhar Punia’,  Punjab Chief minister Bhagwant Mann said that  6000 posts of Anganwadi workers will be filled.

                 Addressing a gathering here to mark festival of Rakhar Punia, the Chief Minister said that the wheels have already been set in motion for completing this recruitment process within 45 days. He said that entire recruitment will be based on merit and will be done in a transparent and fair manner for which a mechanism is being evolved. Bhagwant Mann said that in addition, 4300 posts have been recently filled in Punjab Police and the appointment letters to selected candidates will be handed over in the coming days.

                   The Chief Minister asserted that the state government is committed to check the brain drain from the state to foreign countries. He said that for this more vistas of employment are being opened for the youth both in public and private sector. Bhagwant Mann said that the state government is working hard towards this end.

                Training his guns on the Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress, the Chief Minister said that the people of state have abandoned both these parties because of their anti-Punjab stance. He said that these parties had mercilessly plundered the wealth of the state resulting in extreme hardship to the people. Bhagwant Mann said that these rejected leaders have not held conferences on this occasion because they are fearful of facing the people.

                  Taking in former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal to the Chief Minister said that these leaders remained confined to the high walls of their palaces and never bothered about the common man. He said that these power drunk leaders built ‘castles in air’ and looted the public wealth mercilessly. Bhagwant Mann said that the result is that these leaders have been rejected by the people.

                  The Chief Minister said that he feels sad when he sees the rotten state of affairs during their tenure through the files which come for his scrutiny. He said that instead of focusing on well being of public these leaders had just laid thrust on amassing huge wealth through illegal means. Bhagwant Mann said that the state government is doing its ground work well to nail the leaders who are guilty of looting public money.

                 The Chief Minister quipped that these leaders have not focused on improving the situation of jails during their tenure. However, he said that as their misdeeds will land them in prison at any time so these leaders are now sending pleas to government for focusing on welfare of jails. Bhagwant Mann said that state government will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the plunderers of Punjab are behind the bars.  

              The Chief Minister unequivocally said that these leaders didn’t have any printing machines to print the fake notes but they constructed palatial palaces by robbing the wealth of tax payer’s. He said that this illegal and heinous practice made them rich but deprived the people of basic civic amenities. Bhagwant Mann said that the Aam Aadmi government in the state is committed for ensuring the judicious use of every single penny of public money.   

               The Chief Minister said that earlier governments misused the funds from centre for merrymaking activities due to which Union government was not releasing the funds despite of the legitimate right of state on it. However, Bhagwant Mann said that after he flagged the issue with the Union government they had released Rs 1760 crore which will be spent judiciously on public welfare.

                   Soliciting the support of people for saving precious water and environment of the state, the Chief Minister said that the need of hour is to adopt crop diversification. He said that his government is already promoting this in a big way and now the time has come that all of us should join hands for it. Bhagwant Mann also urged the farmers to refrain from paddy straw burning as it imposes serious threat to the environment in the state.

               The Chief Minister said that 16 new Medical colleges will be constructed in coming five years thereby enhancing total tally of medical colleges to 25 thus transforming Punjab into a hub of medical education. He said that the students aspiring to pursue medical education will no longer have to go to countries like Ukraine as they will be provided quality medical education in these medical colleges. The Chief Minister said that the state government has made elaborate arrangements for ensuring smooth and hassle free purchase of paddy during upcoming procurement season. Bhagwant Mann said that farmers will not face any problem in selling their harvest.

                 The Chief Minister said that the state government is laying major thrust of development of border region. He said that already an Agriculture college has been approved for Kalanaur in Gurdaspur district. Similarly, Bhagwant Mann said that ITI at Baba Bakala will be updated along with the local civil hospital.   

                 Earlier, local MLA Dalbir Singh Tong welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries.

                On the occasion Cabinet Ministers Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjer, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, Lal Chand Kataaruchak and Harbhajan Singh ETO, MLAs Dalbir Singh Tong, Sarwan Singh Dhun, Sherry Kalsi, Dr. Ajay Gupta, Jasbir Singh Sandhu, Jaswinder Singh Ramdass, Amarpal Singh, Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal and others were also present.
