Capacity Building Program held at DAV Public School

Amritsar, September 24 (Punjab Post Bureau) – With the blessings of Revered Arya Ratan Dr. Punam Suri ji Padma Shree Awardee, President DAV CMC, New Delhi and Dr. J.P Shoor, Director PS-I and Aided Schools DAVCMC New Delhi, a one day Capacity Building Programme for teachers was held at DAV Public School Lawrence Road Amritsar under the aegis of DAVCAE DAV CMC, New Delhi on September 23,2023. The occasion was graced by visionaries like Regional Officer Punjab Zone–A  Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Mr. Paramjit Kumar, Principal GND DAV Public School Bhikhindwind, Ms. Tarandeep Teacher Incharge BBK DAV Public School Yaseen Road Amritsar. The Principal of the school Dr. Pallavi Sethi accorded the Regional Officer Dr. Neelam Kamra with a green welcome. The programme was given a traditional onset with the lighting of The Lamp of Knowledge by the Regional Officer, Principals and Resource Persons followed by DAV Gaan.

The workshop was conducted for various subjects like Science, Mathematics, Music /Dance Drama, Fine Arts, Physical Education, Computers.

While addressing the teachers Dr. Neelam Kamra said that the capacity building programs are very important for professional development as they help in adapting and updating the content and methodology according to the need of the fast upgrading times. She stated that such workshops foster a personal education vision and provide knowledge and working skills in planning, creativity and innovation. She focused on planning strategies to score well in major subjects along with minor subjects. Mentoring students , focusing on improving results of weak students should be given priority.

As many as 295 teachers from DAV Public School Amritsar, DAV International School Amritsar, Police DAV Public School Amritsar, MKD DAV Public School Attari, GND DAV Public School Bhikhindwind, BBK DAV Public School Amritsar, JRS DAV Public School Chabhal, JNJ DAV Sr. Sec. Public School Giddarbaha, DAV Edwardganj Sr. Sec. Public School Malout, CM DAV Public School Mandi Dabwali, BBMB DAV Public School Talwara, KRJ DAV Public School Kapurthala, JLM DAV Public School Gurdaspur, DRB DAV Cent. Public School Batala, MCM DAV Public School Pathankot, participated enthusiastically in the workshop and lauded the efforts of the Resource Persons.

The Principal of the school expressed her gratitude to all the guests for their gracious presence and also extolled the efforts of all the resource persons. She was exhilarated at the tremendous enthusiasm of the participants and said that the methodologies discussed during the workshop should be taken to the classrooms as well.
