Interesting power-point presentations and videos connecting children with nature. Introducing them to the concepts of individual responsibility towards conservation, including water & energy sustainability, are a key focus of the sessions. EcoAmritsar collaborated with WWF, and is preparing a roadmap of afforestation for the city. Educational institutions are being engaged as partners to this program which begins with the first monsoon rains. Said Gunbir Singh, “Green schools and environmental responsibility among children is key to our sustainability. Each child is an inheritor of this planet, and thus the mantle of the future rests upon them. Unfortunately, they will also have to pay for the mistakes of the earlier generations. This reality is showcasing itself in soaring temperatures, deforested landscapes, water depletion & degradation, as well as ill health. We must act now and get the youth future ready.”
