Bail to Sajjan: Sikhs hugely pained, disappointed

sajjan-kumarChandigarh, December 21 (Punjab Post Bureau)-  The victims of Delhi 1984 riots Harvinder Singh Kohli, whose father and brother-in- law were burnt alive by mob instigated by Congress leader Sajjan Kumar on November 2, was hugely disappointed on learning that Kumar has been granted bail by Additional Session Judge Vikash Dhull  today. Victim Kohli, who lost his two family members- father Sohan Singh and brother-in-law  Avtar Singh and himself too been seriously injured, said that he was progressively getting disillusioned with the judicial system as victims have not got justice for last 32 years. Manjinder Singh Sirsa, SAD spokesman and secretary Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management, and Kohli  jointly address the media. Even the case of killing of black duck in distant forests of Rajasthan was decided albeit belatedly but cases of murder of hundreds of Sikh in the national capital still is at preliminary stage,” Kohli bemoaned.  Kohli said that he himself had seen brutal murder of his dear ones before his eyes and already 164 witnesses have already deposed in the instant case. When the case was heading towards finality and the arrest of Sajjan Kumar was imminent for proceeding further of the case, he managed to get bail. “Perhaps, Sajjan Kumar was aware that the noose is close to his neck and his Congress collaborators feared that Sajjan Kumar may reveal a lot more about the riots and involvement of big guns, a bail was the only way out. With the grant of anticipatory bail, the chances of getting justice have further receded.” averred Kohli. Sirsa said the decision of the court is “unfortunate” and has enhanced the agony of the community manifold as they are getting alienated from the judicial system too.  The constitution of SIT had given a ray of hope of justice and big guilty men of riots too would be entrapped but this hope too has dashed to ground.
