Amritsar, Dec. 4 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Organic farmers Market this Sunday hosted an exhibition by the Thara School of Art. Exhibits in natural paints, recycled plastic & mural art were presented by artist Smiley Chaudhary in a first of its kind open air interaction between natural farmers, painters & muralists. The pure foods marketplace is held every evening on Wednesdays and Sundays at the Amritsar District shopping centre, B-block, Ranjit Avenue. It was attended by hundreds of city folks who shopped for farm fresh goods and admired The artist creations on display. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Dimple Srivastava, wife of the Police Commissioner Amritsar. She Spent time with artists and farmers alike and showed keen interest in this bonding interaction. She was pleased to see that the market has expanded in its content with cold pressed virgin coconut oil, whole-wheat & natural makki flour as well as a fresh supply of gur & honey, pulses, jams & chutneys. Also added this time were exotic vegetables such as pokchoy, lettuce, kale, dill and herbs. Dr. Srivastava when speaking to the press said, “Natural farming ensures the health of both the farmer and The citizen. I as a doctor can safely say it is sensible to spent a little extra and support the organic farm rather that Spend time in regret in hospitals.”
Gunbir Singh, President, Dilbir Foundation stated that artists at the exhibition expressed solidarity to the DF Initiative hashtagged #NoMorePoisonInMyFood. They also agreed to work more vigorously in promoting use of Natural paints and materials in their creations. Farmers fraternity and families were also overjoyed at the Inspirational displays of art alongwith their organic merchandise.
