Amritsar, Jan. 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Alisha Menon a student of DAV Public School Lawrence Road made the city proud by clinching the first Gold Medal at the National Level in Lawn Tennis (U –17) under SGFI for the city. Participants from 29 states competed at Hyderabad for the top slot, which Alisha a student of Std X grabbed with her precision and skill in the game . Proudly she heads the State Lawn Tennis team (U–17) and has been selected for the World School Games Camp for further training. Also she bagged second position in CBSE North Zone Games and holds the fifth Rank in AITA ranking U–14. Talking about her passion for the game she credits her parents, teachers and the Principal of the school for encouraging her to follow her instincts. She aims to become a professional player and win laurels for the country. Keeping a balance between her studies and sports, she advises not to skip studies but try and maintain a right balance between the two as both are important in the long run.
Regional Director Punjab Zone –A, Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College Amritsar congratulated the student for her brilliant achievement and blessed her for her future endeavours.
Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school expressed her joy at the achievement of Alisha. She said that Alisha had always been a diligent student and had worked hard to reach her goal. She proudly encouraged her to shine in her future competitions.
