Blood Donation Camp at BBK DAV on Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Hans Raj

Amritsar, Apr. 27 (Punjab Post Bureau)  – Youth Red Cross Unit of BBK DAV College for Women in collaboration with Youth Services Punjab and Blood Bank Society, Guru Nanak Medical College organised a Blood Donation Camp in the college. Mr. Lakhbir Singh Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Police was chief guest. Blood donation was an effort to contribute towards the society and also a tribute to Mahatma Hans Raj. The chief guest Lakhbir Singh  donated blood to motivate the students and the staff. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college, Dr. Pushpinder Walia, busted the various myths related to blood donation and defined it as ‘the supreme gift of life’. She called upon the girls to generate awareness among the masses regarding the practice of blood donation. A total of 54 units of blood were donated by the students and staff on this occasion.
