Amritsar, Aug. 28 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Post Graduate Department of Commerce and Management DAV College organized a workshop on The world of Indian banking –concepts ,emergence and latest trends. The main aim behind organizing such workshop was to help amateurs to learn technicalities involved in the field of banking. This workshop was conducted by Mr. Bhushan Malik, Cluster Head and Marketing Manager, Oriental Bank of Commerce. Vikas Soni, Councilor Ward No 70 was the chief guest during this workshop.
Speaking on the Occasion, Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar said that such intellectual workshops help in developing overall personality of students. He also added that such kinds of platforms helps students in getting training of cut throat banking sector. Moreover he also directed the department to organize such kinds of workshops on insurance, stock market and foreign exchange to provoke E-Learning among the students.
While addressing the students, Mr. Bhushan Malik talked about financial sector and its importance in the economic development. He stated that it is generally agreed that a strong and healthy banking system is a prerequisite for sustainable economic growth. He also equipped students with current trends in banking sector that will help them to achieve easy employment opportunities in future. He also congratulated and praised sincere efforts of the Commerce and Management Department for organizing such kinds of workshops.
Speaking on occasion, Prof Rajnish Poppi, Head, Post Graduate Department of commerce and management said that the department always strives hard to provide best practical and theoretical knowledge to students. He also added that we also try to bring prominent professionals to our college to help our students experience best knowledge in every field. Prof. Ritu Sharma and Prof. Alka kapoor were also present during the workshop.
