Painting competitions dedicated to birth anniversary of Sri Guru Ramdas conducted by SGPC

Amritsar, September 25 (Punjab Post Bureau) – SGPC conducted painting competitions for school and college students dedicated to the Prakash Purb (birth anniversary) of the fourth Guru, Ramdas Ji like every year at Bhai Gurdas Hall in Sri Amritsar on Friday. About 350 students from 75 schools and colleges participated in these competitions in three categories including from Class VI to VIII, Class IX to XII and the graduate.

               Among the subjects for painting given to the students included picture of Darshani Singhni (Sikh women wearing Sikh traditional attire including turban), Sikh instruments Rabab/Dilruba, scene of langar Sewa (service), S. Sham Singh Attari, Baba Baghel Singh, Bhagat Puran Singh, Bhai Lachhman Singh Dharowali, S. Teja Singh Samundri Hall and scenes depicting the Guru Ka Bagh Morcha (of 1922). The judges of the painting competitions were Hardeep Singh, Jaspal Singh and Mandeep Singh.

                    On this occasion SGPC additional secretary Partap Singh and the manager of Sri Darbar Sahib Gurinder Singh Mathrewal said that students participating in the competitions will be given certificates and round-trip travel expenses. Students getting first position will be honoured during the birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Ramdas Ji

                    Meanwhile, SGPC officials also informed that the written test scheduled to be held on September 27 would now be held on October 1 at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall.

                  The present on the occasion includes Superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal, Manager \Baghel Singh, Supervisor Kabal Singh, Dr. Ranjit Kaur Panwan, Dr. Simranjit Kaur, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Bibi Gurmeet Kaur, Bibi Kirandeep Kaur, Armanjit Singh, Surjit Singh Rana, Jaspal Singh etc.
