
Amritsar, October 20 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Khalsa College for Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS) will host the 15thConvocation of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (NAVS) and National Symposium on “Sustainable Livestock Development for Food and Nutritional Security: way forward” from October-22 to 23. The veterinary scientists from all over the country would be converging at the national event aimed to hold discussions and debates on the animal health, treatment and care. KCVAS Principal Dr. SK Jand said Chancellor of Khalsa University and President of Khalsa College Charitable Society, Sardar Satyajit Singh Ji Majithia will preside over the function while President of Veterinary Council of India, Dr. Umesh Chandra Sharma Ji and Vice Chancellor of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Dr. A S Nanda would be the special guests during the the inaugural ceremony.
“More than 200 delegates are expected to arrive for the Conference in which papers on livestock sector development, synergistic relationship of livestock and agriculture sectors, animal care and health and the livestock and small and marginal farmers will be discussed’’, said Jand. KU Pro-Chancellor Rajinder Mohanh Singh Chhina and Vice Chancellor of Khalsa University, Dr. SS Chahal would also be present. Chhina said the focus opf discussions will be livestock development, its orientations towards better utilization of local resources, scientific strategies to ensure sustainable animal-agriculture development.
