47th Annual Athletics Meet inagurated at Guru Nanak Dev University

Amritsar, November 3 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The 47^th Annual Athletics Meet 2016 of Guru Nanak Dev University has been started at Athletics Track of University  here today. As many as 500 athletes from 110 affliated colleges of the university are participating in this meet which be concluded on November 5. Gaganajit Singh, Arjuna Awardee and Olympian was the chief guest. Dr. H.S Randhawa, Deputy Director Sports and Head welcomed the chief guest and other Prof. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registrar presented vote of thank  Gaganajit Singh said that hardwork with commitment is key of success for any sports person. He said that sports person should perform at their best without bothering the result. Today, the competition of 5000 mts, 110 mts hurdles, shotput, long/broad jump, javelin throw, pole vault, were held for men. Slimilarly, in women section competition of 5000 mts, 800 mts and  100 mts hurdles were held.
