Art Galary organized Sahir Ludhianvi Nite in association with Rotary Clubs

Amritsar, March 6, (Punjab Post Bureau) – Indian Academy of fine Arts M.M Malviya Road organized Sahir Ludhianvi Nite in association with Rotary Clubs of Amritsar South, east, Central, North, West, Aastha & Punjab Council of Art & Literature today. IAFA had been paying tribute to the legendry poet since 2002 in association with Rotary Clubs and Punjab Council of Art & Literature. This year too, IAFA organized a musical evening based upon Sahir’s Bollywood songs rendered by renowned city singers.

Richa Aneja (Top 10 Indian Idol fame), Khyati Mehra (Finalist Voice of Punjab), Latika Arora, Saloni, Aaanchal, Jasmit Nayyer, Harinder Sohal, Rajesh Bhagat, Kuldip Anand, K.S Mundri, Gurpreet Singh, Surinder Kakkar presented melodious songs.  Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina presided over the function. He welcomed the Guests, Artists and Sahir lovers on the musical evening. Guest of Honour Mohan Singh Sachdeva himself a great poet and singer from Jallandhar praised the efforts put in by IAFA to keep the young generation aware of the evergreen poetry penned down by the legendary poet Sahir. Guests of Honour included Ms. Supnandan Deep ETO a renoened singer, Sudarshan Kapoor a renowned lawyer and Sahir fan.

Special guests included Sahir fans attached to these program since 2002 Advocate Sudarshan Kapoor, Dr.  Amrit Lal Adlakha, Dr. H.P Singh, Dr. O.P Singhania, Dr. P.S Rana, Dr. Rakesh Bharti, Col. KJS Aneja, Retd. Distt. & Session Judge M.S Chawla, Kulwant Singh Suri, Sukhpal Singh, Atul Mehra, Kulwant Singh Gill, Dharminder Sharma, Gulshan Sadana, Narinder Singh Ghabria , Narinder Kapoor and Mrs. Balvinder Grover and many more. Artistists of the year awards were given to Atul Mehra, Ms. Khyati Mehra and Dharminder Sharma. The musical program with light on historical and interesting events pertaining to Sahir was presented by Dr. P.S Grover. Vote of thanks was passed by Er. Pushpinder Singh Grover. It is remembered that Sahir Ludhianvi was a great poet of the century. His talent and poetry was duly recognized by Bollywood by recording over 750 songs for 122 films on his lyrics by almost all the renowned music directors ranging from SD Burman to RD Burman,  Khyam to Laxmikant Pyare Lal, Roshan to Rajesh Roshan, Anil Biswas to Ravi OP and  Nayyer to Kalyan ji Anandji.
