Mother’s Day celebrated in Madhav Vidya Niketan Senior Secondary School

Amritsar, May 14 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Mother’s day was celebrated at the newly constructed auditorium of Ratna Prabha Jaitley Bhawan in Madhav Vidya Niketan. The function commenced in two sessions. The first phase included the movie session for the mothers of Pre-Nursery to V class students. In second phase, mothers of VI to +2 students were invited for celebration of auspicious day. The chief guest of the function Dr. Preeti Yadav, IAS SDM Amritsar-1 was warmly welcomed with bouquets by Dr. Arun Mehra Vice President, Dr Rajesh Mahajan (Manager), Mrs. Savita Dilwari (Member of the management). The function started with the lamp lighting ceremony followed by Saraswati Vandana. Aakash a student of IX class gave his vocals to heart touching song “Maava-Maava Hundia Ne”. A short play was performed by a group of students on the theme of ‘Importance of our mothers.’ Some interesting games were arranged for the mothers like peeling of potatoes, Thermocol balls picking with straws etc to make this day memorable and gleeful. A quiz round was also played to upgrade the mothers with IQ and currents affairs.

Finally the Chief guest Dr. Preeti Yadav Said “The mother is the most powerful being created by the Almighty on the earth and there is no comparison what she does for their children. They are relentlessly working foe the child and family without any recognition.”The male members should also support them in their work.             Dr. Arun Mehra Vice President said that “Mother is the first teacher of the children. The foundation of values is strongly built by the mother.”He added that role of mother was very important as the latest research proved that values are past as to the children by mother right from their womb. Finally refreshments were served to the mothers and other guests.
