BJP State Chief Kamal Sharma honours Artists
Art Gallery turning out to be Mecca for budding artists – Chhina

Amritsar, July 26 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The two-month-long Summer Camp-2015 for the budding artists today concluded with the honoring ceremony for the hundreds of young artists at local Indian Academy of Fine Arts (IAFA). The artists including the singers, sculptures, painters, photographers, poets and writers were honored in the glittering concluding function presided over by BJP state Chief Kamal Sharma.
On the occasion, Sharma along with his vice president and head of IAFA Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina also inaugurated the 5-day long photo exhibition of Syed Abul Hasan Rizvi, a Dubai based artist. Rizvi however could not make to the event due to his visa hassles but his photographs depicting a unique art form of `reflection of water series turned out to be a major attraction for the art lovers.
Kamal Sharma called the artists `binding force` force in any society and appreciated IAFA working tirelessly for promotion of art and culture not only in the region, state but at national and international level it has spread its wings across the globe. Chhina stated that the aim of the summer camp was to create awareness and interest amongst the budding artists and to provide opportunities to the young artists and children to grow up into mature and skilled artists.
Dr. PS Grover, Hon. Gen Secretary, IAFA stated that this photo exhibition inaugurated will prove to be a milestone in field of Photography and will benefit new photographers. Earlier Chhina welcomed Sharma, Cabinet Minister Anil Joshi, Mayor Bakshi Ram Arora, and Akali Dal district head Upkar Singh Sandhu. The photo exhibition also displays the pictures clocked by AS Chamak.
Grover earlier started that trained and qualified tutors provided training to students in different fields of visual, performing arts including paintings, drawings, mural making, photography, music, dances and they also organized seminars, demonstrations and workshops for clay modelling, calico art, graphics, puppet making and sketching.
The artists including Atul Mehra, Kewal Sehgal, Karamjit Singh, Latika Arora, Saloni Arora and Vishu, Bharti Malhotra, OP Verma, Narinder Singh, Harinder Sohal were honoured. During the various cultural functions play daughter of the Bin, by Navjot Sandhu, Folk singing by Kulwinder Billa, RSVP, a Punjabi satirical play by Young Malang Group, Mushaira anchored by Arvinder Chamak was also staged.
