Prof. Pammy Manchanda of GNDU delivered lecture in Turkey

Amritsar, September 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Prof. Pammy Manchanda, Professor & Head, Department  of Mathematics of Guru Nanak Dev University participated in 8^th International Conference on Image Processing, Wavelet and Applications held at Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey. She was a keynote speaker and delivered an invited talk on ‘Some Current trends in Wavelet Method’. The Conference covered application of Mathematics (Wavelets) to Medical Imaging, Tomography, Inpainting in digital imaging, Cryptography, Colour Visual Cryptography, Climate change, Feature Extraction and Big data analysis and Image reconstruction.

In her talk she highlighted her research work on variants of wavelets. She also talked about the application of wavelet for the solution of Hankel Transform which occur in problems associated with geophysics, electro scattering, acoustics, hydrodynamics, image processing, optical data processing, seismology, etc. She visited Instanbul Aydin University, the largest Foundation University in  Instanbul and a Founding member of Eurasian Universities union (EURAS) for an interactive session with the International Relations Advisor and Director. They made a presentation about their various academic programs and explored possibility of student and faculty exchange specially in the Summer and Winter School programs. A Memorandum of understanding was proposed between Istanbul Aydin University and Guru Nanak Dev University.
