
Amritsar, October 17 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The students of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road conducted a special assembly on the birth anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Maharshi Valmiki ji and Guru Ram Dass ji.
Students paid tribute to India’s 11th President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He was known as People’s President. Students read out the list of his remarkable achievements, the way he worked selflessly for the development of the country and his inspirational quotes which will always ring in the minds of the people for the days to come. Students also remembered the great sage and the author of the epic Ramayana, Maharishi Valmiki Ji. The students narrated the incidents from his life, recited the poems written by him and told how his teachings influence people to fight against social justice. Valmiki Ji took humanity to the path of goodness by writing the Ramayana which in true sense give the message of brotherhood.
The students also paid obeisance to the fourth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Ram Dass Ji . He was the planner and creator of the township of Ramdaspur which became the holy city of Amritsar. Students recited shabads and read out his teachings in the school assembly. Regional Director Punjab Zone A Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar sent their best wishes to the students on the occasion of Guru Purab and Valmiki Jayanti.
Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school stressed the need for imbibing the values of great personalities and our only tribute to them is to walk on the path shown by them.
