Blood Donation Camp Organized at DAV College

Amritsar, November 8 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Blood Donation Camp was organized by Blood Camp Association, DAV College in collaboration with HDFC Bank and Guru Nanak Hospital at DAV College. Camp was inaugurated in Arsh Auditorium by Principal Dr. Rajesh kumar.  Shri Gurpratap Singh Tikka, President Shiromani Akali Dal Urban was the Chief Guest. Principal Dr. Rajesh kumar participated in camp for the noble cause motivating other faculty members and students of the college to participate in such welfare camps organized for helping needy persons. Teaching and Non Teaching staff members like Prof. Vijul Kapoor and Prof Sonika Trehen, Comp Science Department and Arvind Mohindru and Deepak Sharma participated in camp with full enthusiasm to help society for this pious cause. The whole blood donation camp was coordinated by Prof B.B Yadav, Coordinator Blood bank Unit College and Staff Secretary of the College. Prof Kulbir Singh, Prof R.K Jha, Prof Gurdaas Singh Sekhon, Dr Laxmi Kant, Incharge NCC Naval Wing, Dr Kamal Kishore, Incharge NCC Infantory, Prof Sanjeev Dutta, Incharge NSS Air Wing, Prof Sunil Sachdeva, NCC Wing, Prof Rajesh Kumar, Incharge electricity, Prof Ashu Vij, Prof Puneet Sharma, Prof Amanjot Kaur, NCC Programme Officer, Dr Ashwani Verma, Medical officer coordinated in association of the camp. Momentos were presented to teacher Incharge of NCC, NSS Wing and College Administrator by the College Principal.

Much eagerness was seen among college students who were waiting in queue for donating blood. Approx 150 units were donated by students during the camp. This great social gesture helped students realizing sense of responsibility towards social welfare. Students from NCC and NSS Units also donated blood units during the camp.  Coordinators of the camp helped donators to make this noble cause a success.
