
Amritsar, January 15 (Punjab Post Bureau) – India is a country of diversities where Lohri/ Maghi/ Pongal/ Bihu are different festivals celebrated on the same dates i.e 13-14 January in different states of India. Lohri festival was celebrated by organing a Punjabi Folk Cultural Program by Sohal Group of arts. Folk songs, dances marked the celebrations besides liting the ‘Lohri bhuga’.

Hon. Gen. Secretary IAFA Dr. P.S. Grover welcomed the art lovers and told the purpose of the day. He assured that IAFA will continue catering the citizens of Amritsar with programmes related to art throughout the year from this year. IAFA started the tradition of celebrating winter festivals under the banner of ‘Winter Art Fiesta’. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina president IAFA was the presiding officer. IAFA members, artists and art lovers felicitated Mr. Chhina on getting official BJP candidature for the elections of midterm Lok Sabha vacant seat. Mr. Chhina was delighted to see the love and affection of art fraternity. He appealed for their support and assured them of special attention towards the promotion of Art & culture in the holy city of Amritsar, if elected. Mr. Harinder Sohal, Ms. Aanchal Arora, Dr. Krunesh Gupta, Ms. Latika arora, Ms Shruti regaled the audience by their artistic presentations. Traditional Lohri dishes were served. Ms. Tajinder chhina, conner of the program thanked the audience for their presence. Elite of the city, artists and IAFA members were present in the function.
