Amritsar, September 9 ( Dharminder Rataul) – An International Conference on “Inclusive Society – its rights and duties” organized at the Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium of the Guru Nanak Dev University. This conference was organized at last day of the “Community Week”. This special event was hosted by Guru Nanak Dev University and organized in collaboration with International Dhillon Marty Foundation, Stanford University and Tokyo University, Japan. Ambassador of France, Mr. Francois Richier presided over the conference. Prof Dr. Ajaib Singh Brar, Vice Chancellor inaugurated the conference and addressed the scholars from various Universities. World renowned architect, Mr. Kengo Kuma, Deptt of Architecture, University of Tokyo delivered Keynote Speech. Sonia Dhillon and Associate Professor Dr. Yuko Hayashi announced the Awards. Mr. Karanavtar Singh from Punjab Regional Chapter, ITPI welcomed the chief guest and others. Sonia Dhillon Marty, President, Dhillon Marty Foundation detailed about the foundation. Dr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registrar presented Vote of Thanks.

Ambassador of France said that all religions teach about universal equality and brotherhood. He said that no doubt Punjab is land of Sikh warriors and at the same time they have achieved a lot with their hard work and dedication in other country also. He said that Sikhs and France have deep relationship as at the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh French officers were also part of his army. He said that nobody should be harassed on the basis of opinion and Religion. He said that there is no discrimination in France as at present most of Sikhs are working at prime positions in France with their beared and turban. Similarly, in the case of Burka (a cloth wear by Muslim women) is only under consideration because of security issues. Prof. Brar said that this is the beginning of healthy relationship between Guru Nanak Dev University and Universities of France and Japan in the field of higher education and research. He said that we are looking for collaboration in the field of Culture, Science and Technology. He said that useful and intellectual exchange will be projected and promoted. He also thanked Dhillon Sonia for selecting the University as venue to organize this week. Ms. Sonia said that because of lack of sanitation facilities, our society is suffering a lot. The need of hour is to create and design more hygienic and healthy atmosphere for our society. Mr. Kengo Kuma and Mr. Karanavtar Singh also present their views on this occasion. Prof. Brar honoured Mr. Francois Richier and  others with shawl and memento  on behalf of the University.
