Amritsar, Dec 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Under the aegis of DAV CAE DAV CMC New Delhi, two day ‘Capacity Building Programme’ for teachers was held at DAV Public School Lawrence Road on November 30 & December 1st 2019. The workshop was conducted for various subjects Mathematics , Science , Fine Arts , Physical Education, Yoga, Music /Dance, Computers and EEDP (Early Education Development Programme). As many as 400 participants from DAV Public School, DAV International School, Police DAV Public School, GND DAV Public School, MKD DAV Public School, JRS DAV Public School, BBK DAV Public School, DAV Red Cross for Special Children, JLM DAV Public School, Gurdaspur, SVJC DAV Public School, Dasuya, KRJ DAV Public School Kapurthala , BBMB DAV Public School Talwara, DAV Edwardgarj, Sr.Sec School, Malout, JNJ DAV Sr. Sec. School Giddarbaha participated in the workshop.
The workshop, which aimed at enhancement and sharing of knowledge and new ideas in the academic and co–curricular front was inaugurated by Regional Officer Punjab Zone –A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra. The workshop particularly dealt with new changes brought by CBSE in different subjects and was based on outcomes of recent academic audit of DAV School. The teachers were updated for the same & new methodologies of improving teaching were discussed. Minimum Learning Packages for all subjects were prepared to enhance QPI and motivate students for better learning. While addressing the teachers she said that workshops are very important for professional development as they help in adapting and updating the content and methodology according to the need of the fast moving times. She added that such workshops foster a personal educational vision and provide knowledge and working skills in planning , creativity and innovation. They hone the skills of teachings of betterment.
Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school, welcomed and thanked Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra for being a constant support to the productive activities of the school. She also expressed her gratitude to the team of Resource persons and observers who provided their expert opinion and guided the teachers for the best turn out of the students in all perspectives.
