Amritsar, Feb. 9 (Punjb Post Bureau) – Sri Durgiana committee urged the Govt. to complete the beautification project of Sri Durgiana shrine complex before 4th March, the pious day of Maha Shivratri. A major facelift to the Durgiana Mandir complex includes the construction of a modern plaza, landscaping, musical fountains, an open-air theatre, a beautiful gate, light-and-sound show, an auditorium and a craft bazaar.
President Sri Durgiana Committee Ramesh Chander Sharma stated that foundation stone of Sri Durgiana renovation project was laid in 2016 with a claim to complete the work within a year. But it has been almost more than two years since the work on the project had started; the construction is still under way. Deadlines are being extended many times after a period and it was lastly fixed up to 15th Jan. 2019. President Sh. Ramesh Chander Sharma and Gen. Secy. Arun Khanna said that Grand event i.e Sarovar Kar sewa of Sri Durgiana Shrine had already been launched on 22nd Jan. with beginning of water extraction process from Sarovar through machines and after the sledge is dried, the desilting Kar sewa has been started on 4th Feb. 2019.
Present in the meeting includes Gen. Secy. Sh. Arun Khanna, Pattern Pyare Lal Seth, Finance Secy. Engineer Ramesh Sharma Vice President Mahesh Khanna, Vipin Chopra, , SHarsh Khanna, Sanjay Mehra, Dr. Mittar Pal were present in the meeting.
