Anil Joshi met Hon’ble Finance Minster Sh. Arun Jaitley on IIM

Apprised of current position of IIM for Amritsar

Amritsar, June 7 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Local Government, Medical Education & Research Minister Sh. Anil Joshi met Hon’ble Finance Minister of India Sh. Arun Jaitley and thanked him for approving IIM for Amritsar. Anil Joshi told Sh. Jaitley that people are very keen on setting up the IIM in Amritsar and are very thankful to you for granting a prestigious project like IIM. Joshi apprised Mr. Jaitley of the current scenario regarding the failure of local administration to provide suitable land for setting up IIM in Amritsar.

He also told Jaitley that people in Amritsar are not only apprehensive of IIM being shifted out of Amritsar, but also very agitated over the thought of this project being shifted to elsewhere and are ready to go to any extent for keeping this prestigious institution in Amritsar.

So, Joshi requested to Sh. Arun Jaitley to kindly take up the matter with S. Parkash Singh Badal to direct the district administration to locate suitable site of minimum 60-70 Acres in or around the Amritsar city for setting up the IIM at the earliest.
