
Amritsar, June 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Two weeks workshop on Chemical Catalysis in Biology concluded with participation from diverse fields like Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Food Science, Environmental Science and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Navdeep Singh Tung, the chief guest in his valedictory address thanked the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India for GIAN iniative. Prof. Tung and international expert Dr. Amnon Kohen from University of Iowa, USA distributed certificates to participants pursuing Masters of Science, PhD Research Scholars and faculty members from GNDU and other universities.
Prof. Amnon Kohen delivered about 24 lectures in a very lucid manner on enzyme kinetics, kinetic isotope effects, molecular modeling and quantum mechanics. Course Coordinator, Prof. Palwinder Singh, characterized the workshop as the successful academic exercise and thanked the university officials for making this first of its kind workshop a success and learning platform along with dynamic vision of Prof. A. S Brar, Vice-Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University. This is one of the unique events being organized by the any university in the region to improve the quality of research and teaching. The contribution and support by Computer Science and Engineering department, GNDU for live web casting was also acknowledged.
