Congress activists and workers protested against the land grabbing mafia in Ajnala

Ajnala, July 29 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Congress activists and workers under the leadership of DCC (R) Chief Gurjeet Singh Aujla today protested against the land grabbing mafia headed by Akali MLA in Ajnala. Protestors marched to police station and staged a protest. Aujla said that land grabbing mafia has been illegally and forcefully grabbing agricultural lands of framers of village Sarangdev (Khanwal) who have been farming there since partition. Aujla alleged that Akali MLA, police and Tehsildar have deliberately been threatening and grabbing lands of farmers in spite of stay by court. More than 100 families are being targeted by this nexus; Police and Tehsildar selectively call the farmers and threaten them of consequences if they don’t themselves surrender their land to this mafia. Aujla said that Congress will take this matter to high court so that this mafia may be checked. He warned the land grabbing mafia and local MLA to refrain from disturbing the farmers else they will have to resort to blocaked and gheraos.
