Career Counseling Cell to Guide Students for Various Streams

Amritsar, May 15 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The DAV College has constituted a career counseling cell as an initiative to provide guidance to students who are in need of it. The cell, equipped with a dynamic approach towards career guidance provides proper direction to all new admissions and also the old students regarding their areas of interest in academics as well as co-curricular activities, NCC and NSS. The college took this initiative keeping in view the need to counsel students particularly those who are indecisive and confused while choosing their careers options. The college for the purpose has constituted a team of senior most faculty members of the college to interact with the students and help them in choosing their fields. The members of the cell include Prof Madan Mohan, Prof Ritu Sharma, Dr. Neeraj Gupta, Prof Kapil Goyal, Prof Sanjiv Dutta, Dr. Munish and Prof Manpreet Kaur.

          Speaking about the counseling cell, Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar said that the college is offering various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in arts, sciences, commerce & management, Computers & IT, Journalism and Mass Communication, Multimedia besides other courses. He added that before a student opts for any course, it’s very important that the students must be well versed with the career options of the particular subject he or she is opting for and for that sake career counseling is must. The counseling cell is open for students of all streams from anywhere in Amritsar and surrounding areas and would be functional throughout year. The students can interact with the members of the cell during college hours and can get their doubts clear.
