Tree Plantation Drive at Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology  

Amritsar, August 6 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Tree Plantation Drive was held at Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology, Amritsar in which faculty members under the headship of Director of the college, Dr. Manju Bala planted saplings to make the campus eco-friendly and greener. Dr. Bala said the balance needed for Earth’s bio-diverse ecosystem has been eroded and we should plant more and more trees to maintain the stability in environment.

            “It is time we pay heed to our surroundings and work to build a better planet and it is very important for each individual to plant at least one tree in his lifetime”, said she adding that it’s no wonder that trees represent life, growth, beauty and peace. Trees exhale for us so that we can inhale them to stay alive.

            The tree plantation drive was held while taking proper precautions like social distancing and faculty wearing masks. More than 50 new saplings of different varieties including Papaya, Loquats, Guava, Sapodilla, Amaltas, Gulmohar, Sukhchain, Gulkeshia were planted. Rajnder Mohan Singh Chhina, honourary secretary, Khalsa College Charitable Society lauded the efforts of the faculty of the college for this noble step towards the environment amid this pandemic.

            Dr. Mohinder Sangita, Dean, Academics, Er. Bikramjit Singh, Registrar, Dr. Ripin Kohli, Dean, Administration, Dr. Kirandeep Singh (HOD, CSE), Er. Jaspreet Singh (HOD, ECE), Dr. Jugraj Singh (HOD, ME), Er. Gurcharan Singh (Dean Student Welfare), Ruchi Handa (HOD, Applied Sciences), Sahil Arora (HOD, HMCT), Er Karanbir Singh, Parneet Kaur,  Amanpreet Kaur, Deepali Prajapat and other faculty members were present.
