BSNL to provide free wifi in Mudhal
Amritsar, June 13 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Member Parliament Gurjeet Singh Aujla today kickstarted plantation drive at his adopted village of Mudhal, in East Constituency during a farmer training camp. The village was adopted by Aujla under Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (Sagy). Mudhal village was identified as beneficiary village for organisation of a Farmers Training followed by a Filed Demonstration on Organic Farming and Use of Organic Inputs. The programme was participated by 50 farmers drawn from the adopted village and adjoining villages. The farmer whose farm was used for demonstration is eligible for a financial assistance of Rs 5000 directly creditable to his bank account by the government of India. The programme was organised in collaboration with the Chief Agriculture Officer, Amritsar and Dr Chandra Shekhar, Junior Scientific Officer from Regional Centre of Organic Farming Panchkula.
Along with this program Aujla distributed 500 plants to the villagers and farmers which were provided and documented by the District Forest Officer. Aujla informed that he had instructed the department to motivate the farmers to plant at least 10 plants each tubewell located in the area of Mudhal. He said that the recipients have been motivated to create tree groves on the tubewell so that the forest cover of Punjab may get revived and fight against pollution, warming and climatic deterioration. He informed that this proposal of plantation on tubewell was discussed during DISHA committee meeting and this has stated from Mudhal. All the 500 plants shall be planted within 5days and a 100% of survival shall be ensured by the DFO. More plants shall be provided in phases ensuring 100% survival of the plants.
He further informed that he has also instructed BSNL to provide the village with complete and free wifi facility. He said that Dy. GM of BSNL Amritsar Circle shall be getting the approvals under SAGY and start installing the setup in the village.
Aujla also instructed the officials from PSPCL to tighten up the loose power lines and provide hassle free solutions to the consumers. Aujla said that all the departments shall ensure the application of Tandrust Punjab initiative along with the plantation drive.
Briefing the media Aujla informed that Cabinet Minister Sh. Navjot Singh Sidhu wanted to join for this program but due to him being out of station he wasn’t able to be present but he has assured complete financial and administrative support. Aujla said that SAGY aims at instilling certain values in the villages and their people so that they get transformed into models for others. He said that Mudhal shall be the model village. He informed that he is on route to village Jons Muhar of Raja Sahnsi to begin similar plantation drive.
