Bringing ecological awareness to the doorstep of School Kids

Amritsar, Aug. 23 ( Punjab Post Bureau) – Wild Wisdom Quiz (WWQ) 2014 on Forest Biodiversity was held in Amritsar today. This WWF initiative has registered over 1500 students from schools across Punjab. These intercity city levels held in Amritsar comprised school winners of Amritsar to Ludhiana zone, and the event was marked with much enthusiasm amongst the children. Schools from Beas, Ludhiana, Amritsar sent teams for this exciting quiz. DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar teams emerged as the overall winners of the Junior as well as Middle school contests. In the Junior level second place was won by Pathseekers School, Beas and third place by BCM Arya Model, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana. The Middle School contest second place was won by Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Majitha Road Byepass, Amritsar, and third held by The Millennium School Amritsar. The DAV team shall now participate in the Nationals to be held in October at Delhi. The WWQ contest is acknowledged as the biggest Event of its kind in Asia, and the final winners shall compete at the National levels for the top 3 teams which gets prizes, participate in a live national telecast, as well as win an adventure visit to Rajaji National Park. The Quiz was carried out by Quiz Master Krishan Anand Shenoy, and facilitated by Puneet Watts, environment Education Officer, Punjab.The Millennium School were hosts to the program. Mr. Mukesh Shelat, Prinicipal of the School has been constantly engaged with Ecological educational activity for the children in collaboration with WWF.
