Amritsar, February 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) – P.G Department of Hindi, DAV College, Amritsar organized the moral education examination in the observance of the 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The examination was held under the auspices of Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Ludhiana, under the supervision of Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar and Dr. Anita Prabhakar Head of department of Hindi, DAV College. The prize distribution ceremony was organized in the Manthanam hall of the college. 60 students from various disciplines like Commerce, Science, Arts, Biotechnology, participated, out of which 8 students got merit positions and 5 students won medals.
Presiding over the event, Vice Principal Dr. Darshandeep Singh and Dr. Anita Prabhakar formally greeted Mr. Baljeet Singh, Vice Chairman, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle. In his address, Dr. Darshandeep Singh spoke about the philosophical and social reformer aspect of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and said that he led an exemplary life and his principles are even valid in present day world. Shri Baljeet Singh stressed on “ Kirt karo, Naam Japo, Wand Chhako” and said that one should lead a simple life and help others to get closer to god.
Amandeep Singh, Maninder Singh, Anmol Singh, Rajveer Kaur and other students received special honors. The stage was handled by Dr. Kiran Khanna. Dr. Seema Sharma and Prof. Sandeep Sharma too played a commendable role in conducting this examination.
