DC asked health dept. to adopt result oriented approach for drug de addiction and rehabilitation

Kapurthala, May 18 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Deputy commissioner kapurthala Vishesh sarangal today asked the health department to adopt the result oriented approach by strengthening the drug de addiction program and rehabilitation of addicted youth .

                      Taking serious note of low results in drug de addiction in the district, Deputy commissioner said that the maximum drug de addiction, smooth functioning of OAAT clinics and rehabilitation of youth was to be ensured by ensuring fully utilization of available resources .

                  He especially asked the civil surgeon and Drug De addiction program incharge Dr Sandeep Bhola and Psychiatrist to prepare new action plan so that desired results could be achieved.

             Deputy Commissioner also asked the officials to ensure supply of medicines in OAAT clinics as nearly 10,000 people registered at 10 OAAT clinics in the district.

                      Advocating to use the services of councillors and Phycaterists in a better way to bring back the addicted youth in Mainstream, Deputy commissioner advocates to ensure the engagement of parents, social and religious institutions in drug de addiction under outreach program at village level .

                 Deputy Commissioner also said that he Will personally monitor the implementation of action plan prepared by the team of experts on drug de addiction and prime focus on rehabilitation of youth who shun the drugs.
