Amritsar, December 6 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Today the 151st birth anniversary of Bhai Vir Singh founder of Chief Khalsa Diwan was observed with great enthusiasm and devotion at CKD Gurdwara Sri Kalgidhar Sahib where The students of Sri Guru Harkrishna Senior Secondary School G.T Road paid tribute to Bhai Vir Singh through melodious Kirtan. CKD President Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, Honorary Secretary Swinder Singh Kathunangal shared the information that 67th World Sikh Educational Conference organised last year was dedicated to the 150th birth year of Bhai Vir Singh Ji and as decided in conference, an ultra modern CKD school in Batala is presently being built in his memory. Dr. Nijjar directed Directorate of Education to organize a visit of students to the residence of Bhai Vir Singh to make them aware of Bhai Vir Singh’s life and his distinguished works. Resident president S.Santokh Singh Sethi and Sikh Scholar Dr. Jasbir Singh Sabharalso spoke about the life of Bhai Vir Singh Ji, his unique works, his exceptional personality and highlighted various important literary works done by him. On this occasion a special issue of “Nirguniyara” dedicated to the birth anniversary of Bhai Vir Singh was released. CKD Management inaugurated “Bhai Vir Singh Literature Study Center” so that the entire works and life of Bhai Vir Singh is exhibited alongwith the writings of famous scholars about him and his compositions can be provided to readers and researchers.
At the end, Vote of thanks was purposed by honorary secty. Swinder Singh Kathunangal, Harmanjit Singh member incharge of Khalsa Tract Society acted as stage secretary. Resident President Santokh Singh Sethi, Honorary Secretary of Educational Committee Dr. S.S Chhina Ad. Honorary Secretary Mr. Jaspal Singh Dhillon and other members and staff were present.
