UGC-SAP Grant for the Department of Zoology of GNDU

Amritsar, April 28 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The Department of Zoology, Guru Nanak Dev University, has been awarded by the UGC a financial assistance of Rs 80 Lakhs (Under Special Assistance Programme)  at the level of DRS-I for  a period of 5 Years (2016-2021). The faculty members, scholars and students of the department shall be engaged in research and teaching under the thrust area : “BioControl Agents for Eco-Restoration”. Prof Satwinder Kaur Dhillon shall be the Coordinator and Prof Anish Dua shall be the Dy Coordinator of this programme. Prof. Arvinder Kaur, Head of the Department in her communication said that the Department is engaged in research in the fields of ecologically-safe pesticides, bio-control of pests, Aquatic Ecosystems & their restoration with special reference to fisheries; Aquatic Toxicology; Gemotexicit and Nematology.
