Amritsar (Manawala), Aug. 15 (Punjab Post Bureau) – For students and staff of Delhi Public School, this Independence Day celebrations became more meaningful and sweeter to see the brilliant smiles on the faces as of 262 students including 9- special children, to whom they distributed ladoos to mark the Nation’s Independence day in its true spirit of sharing. The fellow village students were of Government Primary School, Bundala adopted by Delhi Public School. Meantime, as many as 25 students of DPS School showcased a colorful performance on the theme ‘Rising India’ at Indo-Pak Attari-Wagah border to mark the Independence Day celebrations organized by BSF Commandant MF Farooqui. In the DPS school premises Dr V.K. Banga – Principal, Amritsar college of Engg & Tech as chief guest along with member school management Mr Aakash Khandelwal and Principal Mrs Sangeeta Singh unfurled the national flag marking the 68th Independence Day of India.On the occasion, students and others chorused the national anthem as the Indian flag was raised while the school band belted out the anthem music followed by a grand salute on its unfurling with a shower of flower petals. The school principal on the occasion inspired students and called them the ‘Power of tomorrow’ but exhorted students to keep humble and help the lesser privileged of society. The school premises reverberated with patriotic fervor as students sang ‘Vande Matram and ‘Tiranga –uccha rahe humara. In colorful tricolor attires students presented a dance-music presented ‘Bharat humko Jaan se pyara hai.
