63rd All India Police Volleyball Cluster-2014 Championship starts PAP Hqus

Jalandhar, Oct. 26 (Pawandeep Bhandal/Hardeep Deol) – 63rd All India Police Volleyball Cluster-2014 (Basketball, Handball, Kabaddi & Volleyball Championship is going to be organised by Punjab Police at PAP Hqus., Jalandhar Cantt. from 26‘“ to 30th October, 2014. This Cluster is being Organised under the guidance & patronage of Sh. Sumedh Singh, IPS, DGP/Punjab, Chandigarh with Sh. Sanjeev Kalra, IPS, ADGP/Armed an. & Central Sports Officer, Punjab Police, Jalandhar Cantt. as Chairman of the Organising committee, Dr. Naresh Arora, IPS, lGP/Operation Armed ans-cum-Organising Secretary and Sh. Tulsi Ram, IPS, Comdt. 80th Bn. PAP-cum-Asstt. Organising Secretary. Teams from 34 States Police/CPO’s/UT’s comprising more than 1700 participants of the National/International repute will strive hard to achieve supremacy in this cluster. HC Gurpreet Singh, HC Gurinder Singh, HC Hardev Singh Ct. Manpreet Singh represented India in the recently concluded 17th Asian Games-2014 held at lncheon (South Korea). HC Gurinder Singh was the Captain of Indian Volleyball Team & HC Gurpreet Singh in Kabaddi Team won Gold Medal. HC Hardev Singh & Ct. Manpreet Singh Handball players of Punjab Police also represented India in the 17^th Asian Games-2014 held at lncheon (South Korea).

                                  The Opening Ceremony at PAP Stadium, Jalandhar Cantt on 26.10.2014 was a gala spectacle with an impressive march pass by participants of 34 States Poiice/CPO’s & UT’s from all over the Country. Chief Guest Shri Pawan Kumar Tinu, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Punjab declared this Cluster open. Flags of participating teams and All India Police Games were hoisted and unfurled. March Pass of the Captains of States/U.T.’s & C.P.O.’s was led with National Flag followed by the All India Police Sports Control Board Flag then participating units flags. All the players took an oath to uphold highest traditions of sportsmanship and discipline. During Opening ceremony function welcome address was delivered by Shri Sanjeev Kalra, IPS, ADGP/Armed an. Jalandhar Cantt. In view of proper arrangements large gathering comprising of VIP’s, Honorable Guests, retired Police Officers, distinguished Sportspersons of the yesteryears etc., under carnival atmosphere the Opening Ceremony turned out a colorful function which will be remembered for long-long time to come.
