District administration announces ‘wall painting’ competition

Winners will get cash prize of lacs

Amritsar, February 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The district administration has decided to hold a wall painting competition keeping in mind the upcoming G-20 summit, which will give an opportunity to artists to display their art on the square and Wall’s in the city. The walls will be decorated with so many artworks.  Deputy Commissioner Harpreet Singh Sudan said that the winning professional artist of this competition was given one lakh rupees, the second runner-up got 50 thousand rupees (three prizes) and the third runner-up got 25 thousand rupees each. Similarly, in the category of students, the winning student will be given Rs 10,000, the three second place winners will be given Rs 7,000 each and the third place winners will be awarded Rs 5,000 each. He said that the participants in the competition can register their names on the Google form till February 15.  Any student, institution can participate in this competition as a team or individually.  Each participant will be awarded with a certificate and the winners will be given cash prizes. He said that for more information, you can contact phone number 0183-2560398, 2560498 from Monday to Wednesday from 9 am to 5 pm.

Sudan said that the participants in this competition will be given an area of ​​50 to 150 square feet to paint and all the materials used for painting will be provided by the district administration. The time for painting for this competition will be given from 20th to 27th February. Participants used abstract art, heritage and culture of Punjab, beti bachao-beti pahao, martyrs or famous personalities of the city, education, labour, promotion of Punjabi language, social issues, inviting voters to vote etc. They will paint their wall on topics like sustainable development also.
