Amritsar, Apr. 11 (Punjab Post Bureau) – PG Department of Physics and Electronics organized National Conference on “Recent Trends in Advanced Materials and Applications (RTMA- 2018)” at DAV College. This conference was organized with aim to provide an interdisciplinary forum where scientists, researchers, students and educators can exchange their ideas and share the recent developments in the field of Material Science, Nanomaterials, Quantum phenomenon etc.
In the Inaugural Session, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal DAV College gave the floral welcome to Chief Guest Dr. Narinder Pal Singh Saini, Head Department of Physics, GNDU and various research scholars. While welcoming the Guest, principal Dr. Rajesh kumar stressed upon importance of organizing such events, he said that such intellectual Conferences provide an interactive platform to present the most recent advancements in material synthesis and their developments. It acted as an excellent place for budding scientific community to meet the experts in respective fields and to exchange their thoughts.
While speaking on occasion, Dr. Sameer kalia, Head Department of Physics and Electronics said that our department upholds the tradition of exploring new frontiers of knowledge and our this initiative serves as a medium for researchers to indulge themselves in collaborative work to plan strategic implementation of upcoming technologies. He also added that various aspects like synthesis and characterization of novel materials, investigation of their chemical, electrical, optical and their properties and their relevance were also discussed during the conference by various intellectuals.
During the conference, Technical sessions were conducted in which leading experts in Material Science presented their views on various topics. Dr. H.C Swart , Professor Free State University, South Africa, Dr. S.J Dhoble, RTM Nagpur University , Nagpur and Dr. Aman Mahajan, Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar were among intellectuals who delivered talks in the field of luminescent Materials and their applications in Solar cells, Sensors etc.
During the Event, Various research papers based on topics such as Adavanced Materials, Composite and Ceramic Materials, Thin Films, Bio Materials, Luminescent Materials, Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology, Quantum Phenomenon, Radiation Physics, Gas Sensors, Polymers and Gel Electrolytes, Environmental Science and other related topics were also presented by research scholars during the conference.
This conference was organized under the supervision of Dr Sameer Kalia, Convener, Dr Neeru Gupta, Coordinator, Dr. Vibha Chopra, and Organizing Secretary. Dr Rajesh Kumar, Dr Ajay kumar, Prof. Maninder Kaur, Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Dr. Narinder Arora, Prof. Rajeev Arora, Dr. Neerja Kalia, Prof. Meetu Singh, Dr. Jagdish kaur were also present during the occasion.
