CKD students visited Coca-Cola Company

Amritsar, Oct. 4 (Manjit Kaur)- CKD Institute of Management and Technology (CKDIMT) organized an industrial visit at Coca- Cola Plant (Wave Beverages)recently because the Institute strongly believes that industrial trips provide excellent opportunity to plan, organize and engage in active learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom. A group of 50 students of various disciplines, B.Com (Professional), BBA and B.Sc (ATHM) was led by Head Placements, Mr. Paramjit Singh Makkar. Students were cordially welcomed by General manger, Sanjeev Sharma followed by interactive session between the students and Mr. Sandeep, senior executive of the plant. While discussion, Mr. Sandeep said, “The products are bottled, then the water is purified and it is filled with keeping in view all the safety measures. Later on the product passes through different quality checks so that a safe and quality product is ensured to the consumers.” Thereafter, the students were taken to the various sections of the plant where the cold drink is made through a systematic and well mechanized process. Students came to know that how Coca-Cola Company’s bottling Investments Group (BIG) is responsible for the manufacture, package, sale and distribution of beverages under the trademarks of the Coca-Cola Company. Charanjit Singh Chadha, President and Dr. H.S. Sandhu, Principal, CKDMIT appreciated the visit and said; “Industrial tours provide an insight into the real working environment of the industry. It also serves as a relation building process between Institutes and Industry. Besides that it helps in enhancing interpersonal skills.” After the visit CKDIMT students felt inspired and were mesmerized by the whole process of manufacturing that how the bottles are crowned, labeled and systematically packed in cartons and ready for transportation. Mr. Paramjit Singh Makkar thanked the company officials for their warm hospitality.
