Chairman of Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Temple in Dubai visited Nanak Singh Centre at GNDU

Amritsar, September  21 (Punjab Post Bureau) –  Prominent business tycoon, S. Surinder Singh Kandhari  Chairman of the Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Temple in Dubai  visited Nanak Singh Centre established by S. Nanak Singh Literary Foundation on the third floor of Bhai Gurdas Library of Guru Nanak Dev University here today. Navdeep Singh Suri the grandson of Nanak Singh and former Senior IFS officer,

Dr. Sandeep Sharma Incharge Bhai Gurdas Library and Prof. Incharge PR Dr. Manjinder Singh, Head and Dr. Baljit Kaur Riar, Assistant Professor from Punjabi Department were also present. Dr. Harinder Kaur Sohal Coordinator Nanak Singh Centre welcomed  Surinder Singh Kandhari.

Navdeep Singh Suri gave the detailed information about the rare books, manuscripts, complete literature, various honors received by him, his pen and plate, all things related to his life, original illustrations by painter Sobha Singh as book covers, his pictures, life philosophy and his life line written on the big wall etc. have been preserved and displayed here in this Centre. He said that digitization of some of important letters of S. Nanak Singh is also under process. He expressed his satisfaction over the preservation of belongings of his grandfather by the University.

Surinder Singh Kandhari  expressed his happiness over the nicely maintained Nanak Singh Centre and appreciated the efforts of  Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu. He said that due to this informative centre he came to know about the various aspects of life of S. Nanak Singh.

Dr. Sandeep Sharma on this occasion gave details about the available literature in the library and make the guest well acquaintance with the latest technical evaluation  in the library.

Earlier, on reaching the campus Prof. Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu warmly received S. Surinder Singh Kandhari and others in his office.
