Punjab to provide monthly pension to Pingalwara inmates

Amritsar, Mar. 4 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Punjab Government today initiated the process to provide financial assistance under various Social Security Schemes to more than 1300 inmates of All India Pingalwara Charitable Society by holding a mega camp in the premises of Pingalwara at Mananwala.

Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varun Roojam accompanied by Chief Judicial Magistrate Madam Girish, senior officers of District Administration and Chief Administrator Pingalwara Col. Darshan Singh Bawa personally monitored the mega camp held in the premises of Pingalwara for the facilitation of inmates to fulfill all the requisite formalities to enable them pension holders under different categories. The inmates will get the pensions under Orphan, Old Age, Handicapped and Special Children etc. The officials of Social Security and Health Department completed the required process on the spot.

Divulging details in this regard, Mr. Varun Roojam said that Punjab Government had decided to provide monthly pension to inmates of Pingalwara and they have started the process, which will be completed within a month. He said that after a period of one month the inmates will get the pensions through their guardian nominated by the All India Pingalwara Society. He said that all inmates including Mentally Retarded, destitute women will be included under this program and Rs. 500 per month will be transacted to the account of each inmates of Pingalwara.

Deputy Commissioner also gave directions on the spot to start preparing Aadhar Card of inmates in the premises. He said that a team of district administration will facilitate the inmates for preparing their Aadhar Card, Voter Card, Pension cases etc by extending day to day basis services. He said that the pension cases will be finalized on expeditious mode so that the inmates could become able to get their pensions within a month’s time.

Mr. Roojam also met the inmates and conjoined Sohna-Mohna and they share their experiences with the former. Conjoined Sohna-Mohna recited a patriotic song before Deputy Commissioner.  Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner also took a round of Bhagat Puran Singh School the Deaf and the different wards in Pingalwara premises. Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Tejinder Pal Singh Sandhu, office bearers of All India Pingalwara Charitable Society and officials of Social Security and Health Departments.
