Amritsar, Mar. 6 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Under the able directions of Arya Rattan Dr. Punam Suri President DAV CMC, New Delhi and Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Punjab the birth anniversary and enlightenment day of Maharishi Dayanand Sarawati was celebrated with great fervour on 6th March, 2016 (Sunday) at Arya Samaj, Lohgarh.
Secretary, Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Up Sabha, Punjab – Principal Sh. J. P. Shoor and President Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra specially organized a program to spread the teachings of this great social reformer and enlighten the ignorant minds of the people. On this occasion, Dr. S. K. Sharma, Secretary, Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha and Director, Publication Division, DAV CMC, New Delhi, Swami Surya Dev from Bathinda, Swami Karuna Anand Ji from Kurukeshtra and Swami Madhuranand from Amritsar were present as special guests. The program started at 9:30 a.m. with the auspicious Vedic Hawan Yajna ceremony. Chanting of the holy mantras created a holy ambience all around. Principal Sh. J. P. Shoor accorded a cordial welcome to the present distinguished gathering. He emphasized that Swami Ji aimed to curb all the evils prevalent in the society and formed Arya Samaj to accomplish this motive.
Colourful bouquets were presented to the eminent personalities to extend a hearty welcome to them. The teachers mesmerized the august audience with the mellifluous singing of a Vedic Bhajan. Dr. S. K. Sharma remarked that Swami Dayanand Ji always desired to spread the Vedic culture in every book and corner of the country because Vedas are the base of our traditions and culture. He added that all the DAV Institutions are trying to extend their best possible services in this regard. He also told that the great grandfather of our Worthy President DAV CMC, New Delhi Arya Rattan Shri Punam Suri was very closely associated with Swami Dayanand and today because of him all the DAV & Arya Samaj Institute are related with Dayanand ji.
Shri Arvind Ghai in his address, propagated the teachings of Swami Dayanand ji and suggested everyone to adopt the same in their lines. Swami Karuna Anand laying stress on the importance of performing Hawan Yajna, emphasized that it not only purifies the environment around but also the heart and soul of those who participate in it. On this occasion, Swami Surya Dev also interacted with the present gathering and advised everyone to follow the teachings of Swami Ji in their lives. He told that before the formation of Arya Samaj, our country was full of vices and social evils. With the advent of Arya Samaj, our society got rid of all the prevailing evils. Swami Madhuranand also suggested everyone to follow the footsteps of Swami Dayanand ji and become noble citizens in life.
Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra expressed her gratitude to all the dignitaries for gracing the occasion with their presence and remarked that the main motive of Arya Samaj is to make genuinely good human beings. On this occasion, Sh. Vijay Mehak, Sh. Narender Kumar and Kumari Meena teachers of different DAV Institutions presented some melodious Vedic Bhajans. Beautiful green plants were distributed among the gathering to spread the message of Environment Protection. Sewing machines and uniforms were distributed among the women and children, respectively, from the underprivileged sections of the society. Some ration items were also distributed among the poor & needy people. On this occasion Sh. B.K. Mittal, Sh. Arvind Ghai, Sh. J.K. Luthra, Advocate Sudershan Kapoor, Ms. P.P. Sharma, Dr. V.P. Lakhanpal, Sh. Kundanlal Aggarwal, Sh. Jagdish Sahini, MLA, Batala, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Dr. Pushpinder Walia, Sh. Rakesh Mehra, Sh. Hira Lal Kandhari, Sh. Inderpal Arya, Principal Ajay Beri, Dr. A.K. Paul, Dr. K.N. The program concluded with the chanting of Shaanti Paath followed by Rishi Langer.
