Amritsar, August 28 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The students of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road conducted special assembly on the occasions of Krishna Janamashtami and birth anniversary of an Indian Revolutionary, Shivaram Rajguru. Students paid obeisance to this invaluable son of Bharat. They recited poems saluting the indomitable courage of the freedom fighter who laid his life for his country .Rajguru became a colleague of Bharat Singh and Sukhdev and took part in the assassination of a British police officer, J.P Saunders. His life history inspired the students and they took a pledge to work selflessly for the cause of the motherland.
The students also sang songs invoking Lord Krishna. They also recited a few excerpts from Bhagwad Gita. They read out the significance of this auspicious day and the rituals attached to it.
Regional Director Punjab Zone-A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Manager of the school wished health and prosperity for all and urged to focus on selfless service. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school extended her greetings to the teachers, students and their families. She also added that we must try to tread the path of courage and grit and endure all odds like a true fighter.
