MCA keeping constant watch on the working of Khaparkheri & Gaunsabad Sewerage Treatment Plant

Amritsar, May 15 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Commissioner Corporation Harpreet Singh said in a press release that Municipal Corporation Amritsar is keeping constant watch on the working of Khaparkheri & Gaunsabad Sewerage Treatment Plant and Intermediate Pumping Stations at Batala Road & Mohkampura to check the proper flow of sewerage. He said Municipal Corporation has geared up its machinery and man power for the forth coming rainy season. He has deputed its officers  SE Sandeep Singh and XEN SP Singh to have a constant watch of all the sewerage treatment plants in the city so that if it run successfully the sewerage system of city will not be affected and the people will not face any trouble during rainy season. He said he himself visited many a times these sewerage treatments plants and directed the company officials which are operating these STPs to run it successfully without any break. He has also deputed its officers to daily check the disposal plants on the bye pass roads to check its proper running.

Commissioner said that many public complaints were coming into his notice regarding sewerage problems in various parts of the city. He said since the date of his joining, his top priority is to provide all basic amenities to the citizens. It is the duty of the Municipal Corporation to provide pure drinking water & proper flow of sewerage system. Earlier too he checked all the STPs at Gaunsabad, Khaparkheri and passed directions to the company which is operating these STPs, to properly operate all the motors at the treatment plants. Commissioner said earlier Municipal Corporation Amritsar was spending crores of rupees on Super Sucker Machines for cleaning of sewerages in the city but today he himself checked Intermediate Pumping Stations on Batala Road & Mohkampura & main holes on the main roads to check the flow of sewerage there. He said he is of the view that if all the IPSs & STPs run properly without fail, there will be no sewerage problem in any part of city.
