‘AAP will wash away corruption & scourge of drugs’- Dr Daljit Singh

Amritsar, March 30 ( Punjab Post Bureau)- “AAP is a people’s movement which has turned into a huge tsunami and will wash away corruption and scourge of drugs from the country to a large extent”. Aam Aadmi Party Amritsar’s candidate Padamshree award recipient Dr Daljit Singh said while talking to people of  Chheharta and Ghanupur Kale early from 6 am onwards till nearly 10 am. Residents were woken up with the beats of  traditional dhol just as ‘nigaada’ was used in ancient times. During this  door to door campaign in slum areas, Dr Daljit Singh said , people are fed up with the regime of SAD-BJP and Congress and well aware about the nefarious designs of these traditional parties. They are fed up with the policies to facilitate the rich and make life miserable for the poor, therefore people were looking at alternatives and that alternative has come in the form of AAP. During this ‘Jhadu Chalao March’ residents of village told the AAP candidate that the drug cartel in the area was openly operating and drugs like smack, heroine were  freely available in the form of capsules, injections, powder at not only various shops but by dealers hiding in various nooks and corners of the area. ‘A daily wager is attacked by drug users whenever he carries his salary’ and police was in cahoots with the drug dealers, villagers told the AAP candidate in hush hush tones. The sanitation of the area is pathetic and the area is muddy while no authority takes any notice of it. Candidates come only to ask votes and later do nothing, the area residents were in the mood to boycott the elections but AAP candidate Dr Daljit Singh assured them that he would take on their problems with relevant authorities and get them addressed as he would be staying in the city unlike the BJP and Congress candidates who will vanish off as soon as the elections are over. The area has a severe problem of toilets and women have a harder time. AAP candidate said the time has come when those with false promises would be defeated at the polls. He said that his party was committed to the highest standards of integrity and this certainly was not the kind of Independent India envisioned by the great martyrs who laid down their lives during the freedom struggle.During this march, Dr Indu, Dr. Ravijit, Jagdeep Singh, Anil Sharma, Dr Gurpreet Singh, Balwinder Singh, Ravinder Singh  distributed the trademark AA{P cap and pamphlets about the party’s  policies aimed at making our Nation strong, corruption free and for sustainable development.
