Amritsar, July 13 (Punjab Post Bureau) – With the motive to equip the teachers with the latest technology for making social science an interesting subject, a five days Orientation Programme for social science teachers was organized under the guidance of Nirmal Singh President CKDCS and Dr. Jaswinder Singh Dhillon Hony. Secy. Educational Committee CKDCS in the premises of SGHPS G.T Road. Mrs. Shabnam Sharma, Principal DDI School, Dr. Joginder Singh Arora, Dean & Head of Commerce deptt, Khalsa College, Amritsar. Miss Ranjit Bhatia, Principal SGHPS, Tarn Taran, Mrs. Ripudaman Malhotra, Principal SGHP International School, Amritsar and Mrs. Taranjit Kaur, Mrs. Gursharan Poonian, Mrs. Prabhjot Kaur & Mrs. Jatinder Kaur from the host school were the resource persons. As many as 43 teachers from different branches of SGHP Schools run under the flagship of CKDCS attended the programme.
The four-day long programme included sessions on ‘Adolescent Problems’, ‘Career Counseling’ ‘Need of Techno Savvy teachers’, ‘Qualities of a good teacher’ and ‘Pedagogical Strategies of Social Science’. During the event participation of teachers was sought by involving them various kinds of activities like map filling, framing of question papers, drafting of assignments etc.
Bhag Singh Ankhi Chairman schools CKDCS gave his benign presence and put forward his valuable views on the role of a teacher in the life of a student and added that teachers should give motherly treatment to their students. Hari Singh Member Incharge G.T Road School appreciated the efforts being taken by the management. Principal Dr. Dharam Veer Singh appreciated the efforts of the teachers by saying that it was quite enriching, enlightening informative and well-organised programme. He further added that such activities are really beneficial for the teachers to keep them updated of the recent changes of the education system.
The sessions culminated with expressing gratitude to the resource persons, distribution of participation certificates to the teachers and the assurance that the entire staff is now geared up. The very ambiance reaffirmed the commitment of the teachers of providing quality education to the children.
