DAV Public School Commemorates International Yoga Day

Amritsar, June 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School Lawrence Road celebrated the 8th International Yoga Day (Theme–Yoga for Humanity) with euphoria and vigour.A special commemorative Yogic Kriya session was organised in the school premises. The students, faculty members and staff attended the session .The Kriya Session began with an invocation prayer followed by Anulom Vilom Pranayam and  Bharamri Pranayama . The yoga enthusiasts plunged themselves in mind- body workout , practising various Asanas like Surya Namaskar, Parvat Asna, Tadasana, Ardh Chakra Asana, Bhujang Asana, Hasya yoga combining laughter, deep breathing and clapping ,to name a few, in a spectacular synchronicity with instructions by the school’s yoga instructors . The session was concluded with chanting of Shanti Mantra.

                   The Regional Officer Punjab Zone-A Dr. Mrs. Neelam Kamra appreciated the school’s initiative and sent her warm greetings to the school fraternity. She urged students to embrace yoga for a healthy life. It is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried out every day.

           Dr. Pushpinder Walia, the Manager of the school, extended her warm wishes on the occasion and urged students to stay connected to the practice of yoga as it is a way of life to find one’s strength within body and mind.

                Dr. Resham Sharma, Officiating Teacher Incharge extended her genial thanks to Dr. Mrs. Neelam Kamra , Dr. Pushpinder Walia and Dr. Neera Sharma for their warm wishes. In her address to the students, she said that yoga is the most profound way to enhance human consciousness and well being. Emphasising the importance of hanging out with yoga, she stated that children who practice yoga become strong, independent individuals with clear thinking. They do not fall prey to peer pressure or go down the path of drugs and smoke. Yoga knowledge gives them the clarity to make the correct decisions.
