Five athletes of GNDU Shines at 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou China

Athletes got 11 medals for India

Amritsar, September 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Hangzhou, China–In an extraordinary display of talent and determination, Guru Nanak Dev University’s athletes have made history at the 2023 Asian Games being held in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8. To date, the university boasts an impressive tally of eleven medals, setting a milestone that no other university in India has achieved.

The athletes from Guru Nanak Dev University have showcased their exceptional skills and sportsmanship on the grandest stage of Asian sports. With a total of 12 athletes participating across various disciplines, the university has left an indelible mark on the games.

                Shooting: Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar: Gold in 10m Air Rifle Team (with a new world record). Bronze in 10m Air Rifle Individual. Gold in 50m Rifle Team (with a new world record).Silver in 50m Rifle Individual. Ashi Chouksey: Silver in 50m Rifle Team. Silver in 10m Air Rifle Team. Bronze in 50m Rifle Individual. Sift Kaur: Gold in 50m Rifle Individual (with a new world record). Silver in 50m Rifle Team. Divynash Singh Panwar: Gold in 10m Air Rifle Team (with a new world record). Medal Tally – Cricket: Kanika Ahuja secured a Gold medal.

This outstanding performance in shooting, marked by multiple world records and exceptional teamwork, is a testament to the dedication and excellence of Guru Nanak Dev University’s shooters. In cricket, Kanika Ahuja’s Gold medal has added to the university’s glory.

As the Asian Games continue, all eyes are now on the upcoming events in Cycling, Judo, and Fencing. The university, along with the entire nation, eagerly awaits more outstanding sports performances from its athletes.
