BBK DAV College for Women wins 65th Sr. State Basketball Championship

Amritsar, July 27 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Basketball team of BBK DAV College for Women won the 65^th Sr. State Basketball Championship, held at Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, from 17^th to 20^th July, 2015. After 22 years, the team got champions position in Basketball Sr. State championship. Amritsar team gave a splendid show by defeating Ludhiana team with a score of 54-53 & Mansa team with a score of 70-67. In the finals match, Amritsar beat the Jalandhar team with a score of 51-33. The team created a new record. Its members are Ms. Navdeep Kaur, Ms. Seema, Ms. Samriti, Ms. Shabnam, Ms. Somi Kumari,  Ms. Gagandeep Kaur, Ms. Sukhjinder Kaur, Ms. Karanjeet Kaur, Ms. Akwinder Kaur and Ms. Harjeet Kaur. The Team honoured with a champions trophy and Ms. Somi Kumari declared as the best player of the tournament was honoured with a Shawl and Memento.

Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, H.O.D of the Sports Department, Mrs. Sweety Bala and other faculty Ms. Aruna, Ms. Rajwant & Basketball Coach Mr. Manjit Singh and Mr. Ravinder Singh congratulated the students for this achievement.
