Deputy Commissioner orders speeding up of corona testing

Instructions for monitoring high-risk areas through the Itihas Portal

Kapurthala, March 26 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Mrs. Deepti Uppal today issued orders to all SDMs and SMOs in Kapurthala district to increase the testing for corona prevention.

            During an online meeting with top administrative and health officials regarding the prevention of corona, the Deputy Commissioner said that in view of the fast growing number of cases, testing should be done as much as possible and corona testing should be made mandatory for those without masks.

Deputy Commissioner asked all the SDMs to personally monitor the testing process besides seeking the cooperation of the police.

She also said that in view of the high mortality rate, people with comorbid condition should be identified and tested so that they could be protected from danger. She called the officials to use ‘itihas portal’ to identify areas with high cases.

Emphasizing on increasing contact tracing, the Deputy Commissioner said, “This is the most important step for the prevention of Corona.

            She asked the SDMs to enlist the help of other volunteers for cooperation in testing and to contact the social service organizations in this regard.

            Additional Deputy Commissioner General Rahul Chaba, Additional Deputy Commissioner Development SP Angra, all SDMs Civil Surgeons and SMOs participated in the online meeting.
