Amritsar, Feb. 2 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Farad Kendras set up by the State Government with the aim of providing computerized information and documents pertaining land records are proving a boom for the people, said Mr. Ravi Bhagat . Deputy Commissioner Amritsar. He informed that during the year 2014 nearly 1,37,257 applications were received for obtaining the copies of farads and all were delivered well in time from the 9 farad kendras operational in the district, yielding a revenue to the tune of Rs.1,42,5260 as processing fee. The Deputy Commissioner said that obtaining the copy of the farad is a very simple procedure involving an application and deposition of the requisite fee followed by on the spot delivery of attested farads. He said that as per the “Right To Service Act” the copy of the land record is to be provided within a day but in the farad kendras it is being done on the spot. This he said it saves a lot of time and money of the people and is being appreciated by them.
Mr. Ravi Bhagat said that the comfort of the people is also being looked after in these kendras as all the 9 farad kendras namely that of Amritsar-1, Amritsar-2, Ajnala, Lopoke, Majitha, Baba Bakala . Attari, Ramdas and Tarsikka have an adequate arrangement of clean drinking water and ample seating capacity. He further informed that the land record of 755 villages out of 791 villages in the district has been computerized and soon the computerization of the record of remaining 36 villages will be accomplished.
Mr. Bhagat said that the district administration is dispensing services in a fair and completely impartial manner but in case anybody faces any harassment or non-cooperation in the farad kendras, he/she can bring the same into his notice on telephone no. 0183-2226162.
